Travel China ("we," "us," or "our") is a travel planning app by Compass & Crane, designed to help foreign visitors plan trips to China. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Account data: Email address and display name when you register.
Trip data: Itineraries, saved places, and travel dates you create within the app.
Usage data: App interactions, search queries, and feature usage to improve the service.
Device data: Device type, OS version, and app version for crash reporting and compatibility.

We do not collect precise location data without your explicit permission.

How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the app's features.
To personalize AI-generated travel recommendations.
To send trip reminder notifications (only if you grant permission).
To process payments for Pro membership and Trip Plan+ (via secure third-party payment processors).
To analyze anonymized Ask AI question patterns to improve our travel content and reduce costs.

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL database with row-level security). Trip data is associated with your account and is only accessible by you unless you choose to share it.

RevenueCat — In-app purchase management (revenuecat.com)
Render.com — Backend API hosting

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your information with third parties except as required to provide the service (e.g., payment processing) or comply with legal requirements.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen, which will permanently remove your personal data within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Travel China is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data.
