Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Travel China, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Description of Service

Travel China is a travel planning application by Compass & Crane that provides AI-assisted itinerary planning, local content guides, survival tips, and community travel reports for visitors to China. Some features require a paid subscription or one-time purchase.

User Accounts

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
You may not share your account with others or use another person's account.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Post false, misleading, or harmful content in travel reports or reviews.
Use the service for any illegal purpose.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app.
Scrape, harvest, or systematically access our content.
Impersonate other users or create fake accounts.

User Content

By posting travel reports, reviews, or tips, you grant Travel China a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote that content within the app. You retain ownership of your content. We may remove content that violates these terms.

AI-Generated Content

Trip itineraries and recommendations generated by our AI are for informational purposes only. Travel conditions, prices, and availability change frequently. Always verify important information (visa requirements, entry restrictions, transport schedules) through official sources before traveling.

Payments and Refunds

Pro membership ($9.99 one-time) and Trip Plan+ credits are non-refundable once used.
If you experience a technical failure that prevents access to a purchased feature, contact hello@compassandcrane.com within 7 days for a review.
Prices are in USD and may vary by region due to local taxes and currency conversion.

Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, logos, and technology within Travel China are owned by or licensed to Compass & Crane. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works without our explicit written permission.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

Accuracy of travel information, maps, or AI recommendations.
Uninterrupted or error-free service.
That the service will meet your specific requirements.

Travel involves inherent risks. We are not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your travel decisions.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compass & Crane's liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $10, whichever is greater.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
